This collection contains greeting cards, postcards, commemorative cards, clippings, pamphlets, and other printed ephemera depicting the Blessed Virgin Mary, Maddonna and Child, the life of Jesus and Mary, and other religious themes in the style of Byzantine and Eastern Orthodox art.
The Father Alfred Boeddeker collection contains stories on Marian apparitions and devotions, brochures, prayers, sheet music, newspaper clippings, ephemera, and materials for a course in Mariology. Father Boeddeker was a Franciscan priest based in California. He was the founder of the St. Anthony Dining Room in San Francisco, and is known for his humanitarian work as well as his participation in a number of Marian organizations.
This collection contains three bound journals which document personal piety and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. They contain transcribed typewritten excerpts of writings on the Blessed Virgin including prayers, poetry, the Litany of Loreto, and daily consecrations to Mary. All journals contain printed images such as holy cards and clippings that accompany many of the entries.

The materials in the collection were most likely used in private devotion and represent a variety of popular and unique American and European Marian prayers since the 19th century.
